DUBAI: Part-Palestinian models Bella Hadid and Gigi Hadid shared heartfelt birthday tributes for their mother, US-Dutch model Yolanda Hadid, on social media on Tuesday.
Bella shared a series of old images of her mother with her 48.3 million followers and wrote: “Happy Birthday Mama.”
The photos included one of the two sisters with their mother, one of Yolanda during her modeling days and one of Yolanda and baby Bella cuddling.
Meanwhile, Gigi took to her Instagram Stories to share a photo taken when she was a toddler with her mother. “Happy birthday mama,” she wrote.
The youngest of the Hadid family, Anwar, shared Bella’s post on his Stories and captioned it: “Happy birthday mamma. Love you forever and always!”
Yolanda has plenty of experience in the modeling world. She was discovered at the age of 14 when Dutch designer Frans Molenaar asked her to replace a model in one of his collections. She would go on to become a fashion week fixture during the 1980s and 1990s, and appear in the pages of high-profile fashion publications.
Though she no longer models, the mother of Gigi and Bella is a best-selling author, former “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” cast member and a TV host.
