DUBAI: Fai Khadra wears many hats. In addition to being a musician, the US-Palestinian multi-hyphenate also dabbles in modeling, sculptures, DJ’ing and set design. For his latest endeavor, Khadra teamed up with heritage eyewear house Oliver Peoples on a capsule collection of handcrafted sunglasses, available now.
“After 8 months we’re finally here!” wrote Khadra to his 2.4 million Instagram followers. “I can’t thank @oliverpeoples enough for trusting me and making this vision come to life so beautifully! OUT NOW! These are truly the perfect everyday glasses and I can’t wait to see you all in them,” he added, alongside the black-and-white campaign images starring himself and model Jordan Daniels, which were shot by renowned fashion photographer Hugo Comte.
Oliver Peoples has previously collaborated with brands like The Row and Brunello Cucinelli, but this capsule collection marks the first time that the eyewear label has joined forces with a single individual.
The new capsule comprises a line of sleek sunglasses that come in an array of colorways, and are perfect for everyday wear.
According to Khadra, the frame of the sunglasses, which resemble Wayfarers, is a shape that Oliver Peoples has never done before.
The frames, which are handcrafted in Italy, feature a custom embedded corewire designed by Khadra that is inspired by the elaborate intertwined pattern of barbed wire.
The sunglasses retail at $560 and can be purchased online.
