DUBAI: Saudi opera singer Mohammed Khayran Al-Zahrani delighted his virtual audience with a performance during the 18th edition of Abu Dhabi Festival this weekend.
The countertenor performed “Aala Wa Amjadu” with a musical arrangement composed by Hiba Al-Kawas.

Accompanied by members of the Lebanese Philharmonic Orchestra and produced and conducted by composer, soprano and academic Al-Kawas, the performance featured Al-Zahrani’s unique, ethereal voice.
“I am grateful to be a part of the Ramadan Series presented by Abu Dhabi Festival. This collaboration is a significant addition to my career, as it is the first time that I have performed opera in Arabic,” Al-Zahrani said in a released statement.
Members of the Lebanese Philharmonic Orchestra filmed their performance in the iconic National Museum of Lebanon in Beirut, while Al-Zahrani filmed his piece in Al-Tayebat International City of Science and Knowledge, an Islamic heritage museum in Jeddah.
