DUBAI: Streaming platform Netflix has made history for dominating the nominations for the 26th Critics Choice Awards (CCA) with four best picture nods, it was announced this week.
This is the highest recorded number of nominations for any studio in the history of the CCA.
Netflix’s “Mank,” “Da 5 Bloods,” “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom” and “The Trial of the Chicago 7” have all been nominated.
“Mank,” by American director David Fincher, topped the list with 12 nominations.
Besides best picture, the movie’s filmmaker Fincher is nominated for best director, while Gary Oldman has been nominated for best actor, Amanda Seyfried for supporting actress and Jack Fincher for best original screenplay.
