DUBAI: Arab Fashion Week Fall/ Winter 2021/22 will take place from March 24-28, the Dubai-based Arab Fashion Council announced on Thursday.
The five-day event, which will feature 25 fashion designers from across the Middle East, Asia, Europe and America, will be presented virtually to avoid mass gatherings that risk the spread of the coronavirus.
The designers working under the theme “Dream Big, travel beyond” will present their collections during the show, which will be streamed on Facebook and Instagram.
Viewers will be able to shop their favorite runway looks through Instagram’s and Arab Fashion Week’s shop-the-runway ecommerce shop.arabfashionweek.com. Fashion lovers in Dubai meanwhile would be able to visit the designers’ showrooms and pop-up stores during Arab Fashion Week.
The virtual program will also include side events including Red Talks, industry experts discussing the latest trends and evens.
Mohammed Aqra, Chief Strategy Officer of the Arab Fashion Council, said in a released statement: “Not only is Arab Fashion Week now established on the international fashion calendar, through challenging times, it has continued evolve to remain relevant, thereby reinforcing its position as the most valuable platform for designers operating in the Middle East.”
“Together with our valued partners Microsoft, Facebook Inc. and Nikon, we stand by Arab creative talent by providing them with a robust platform capable of fostering their growth in response to an ever-evolving world,” he added.
