The Egyptian singer-songwriter’s latest single is a restrained downbeat track built mainly around Malak’s soaring vocals over a guitar arpeggio. In a press release, the singer explained that she wanted to “access vulnerability” and express the fact that opening oneself to an emotion like love also means “you’re going to have to be open to all the other layers that come with it … pain, confusion, obsession.”

‘Forthcoming’ OST
The Tunisian musician has composed the soundtrack for Emirati director Alham Al-Subaihi’s new movie, an action-comedy which the filmmaker describes as a “Bedouin kung-fu movie.” Aeli describes his soundtrack EP in a press release as “Arab EDM to set the sonic décor, with the sounds of the desert, wind, and horses, in a mysterious mood.”

The Lebanese singer-songwriter’s new single (the title translates to ‘Why Would I Stay?’) is an alt-pop song built over a pounding percussion track and showcases Zef’s impressive vocal range. Lyrically, according to a press release, the song (and its video) “highlights the struggles of young (Arabs) who are often forced to immigrate in search of better living conditions.”
