DUBAI: US-Palestinian stand-up comedian Mohammed Amer, who goes by the name Mo Amer, is teaming up with Netflix for two new shows.

The streaming service will premier a stand-up comedy series on Nov. 30 entitled “Mo Amer: Mohammed in Texas.”

Amer discusses pandemic politics, the stock market, the spread of Arab culture in the West — including the hookah, hummus and the proliferations of bidets – and more.

The second production will be a scripted comedy series with US-Egyptian actor Ramy Youssef. The work’s title and release date are yet to be announced.

Amer plays the role of Mo Najjar, a Palestinian refugee who is lost between two cultures and three languages. His family — including his mother, sister and older brother — flee to Houston, Texas.

The actor is famous for his role in the award-winning Hulu sitcom “Ramy,” in which he stars as Youssef’s Muslim cousin who owns a diner. Amer also has a Netflix comedy special called “Mo Amer: The Vagabond.”
