DUBAI: Billed as the world’s greatest show by organizers, Expo 2020 Dubai kicks off on Oct. 1, with a starry lineup of international talent performing at the opening ceremony on Sept. 30, which you can watch above.
Among those slated to perform are world-famous tenor Andrea Bocelli; Grammy-nominated, Golden Globe-winning actress, singer and songwriter Andra Day; platinum selling British singer-songwriter Ellie Goulding; famed pianist Lang Lang; and four-time Grammy winner Angelique Kidjo.
20:00: The grand opening ceremony of Expo 2020 opens with the playing of the national anthem and the raising of the flag in the presence of the Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum and Ruler of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan.
19:30: Male performers in white traditional Emirati thobes line up to welcome visitors whilst women dressed in glitzy and colourful traditional clothing dance ahead of the opening ceremony.

From the region, Saudi singing sensation Mohamed Abdo, as well as Emirati stars Ahlam Alshamsi and Hussain Al-Jassmi, will perform. Grammy-nominated Lebanese-American singer Mayssa Karaa will also hit the stage, among other talents.
Expo 2020 Dubai will run for six months and will feature pavilions from around the world showing off their latest innovations, as well as the best of their arts, food and culture scenes.
